Wicket is Wicked

In the course of investigating some alternative web frameworks (other than Struts2, which I do like) I decided to take a look at Wicket. This is a vastly different way of creating web projects, and I am really starting to like it. The big difference is that you don’t need a lot of configuration, and you do a lot of coding that looks like real Java classes. You get to add components and listeners to a class that acts as your page. There is a html file that goes with each page, but it is just html. Only the wicket:id element to the span (or other html) tags indicates that there is anything different. You link to other html pages, and wicket does the rest.

Delicious 2

Delicious 2, an update to the del.icio.us web site is now out. They are now just delicious.com thank you very much. Delicious is a web site that allows you to store bookmarks out in the cloud (apparently our new word for server) so you and anyone else (if you want them public) can access your bookmarks.

I decided to enter this yummy new world, and uploaded my list of bookmarks. Fast. Looks neat. I have been using the foxmarks plugin for firefox to store and sync my bookmarks, so I am not sure how much I will use this. I haven’t used social sites very much in the past, but who knows.

Where’s the Aperture Love

Several of the blogs and books I see on photography talk about Photoshop (full, not Elements, but that’s another post) and Lightroom. Not Aperture. I realize that Aperture only runs on a Mac, and Lightroom runs on both Windows and Macs, but information on the web is scarce. I tried to come up with a list. This is all I have.

Thats it. Really? All of those sites have links to each other, and no where else I can find. What gives? Where is the info on settings for best sharpening results, or how to get different looks out of your pictures. I have read articles on using Lightroom for this recently, but I have trouble transferring the knowledge over. Anyone know other resources?
